CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Over the past two weeks, a number of Clarksville-area teams have been fighting for a chance to advance through the postseason, but Monday night the final remaining boys team was eliminated.
Rossview High
The Rossview boys’ were the team to beat throughout Montgomery County in their division, but their season came to a sudden halt on Monday.
Rossview was defeated by Memphis East High 62-53. With the victory, Memphis East advanced to the state tournament while Rossview was sent home.
Before their defeat, the Hawks were riding a 20-game win streak and had not lost since December. They compiled a record of 28-5 under longtime head coach Johnny Jackson.
Rossview not only became district champions during postseason play, but they also won their first-ever regional championship.
Clarksville Academy

The Cougars fell just short of reaching the state championship game. They were beat by Goodpasture Christian by a score of 48-47 in the semifinals last week.
Goodpasture Christian hit a game-winning free throw to separate themselves at the end of regulation, and they were hoping to become Division II Class A state champions.
This was the second consecutive season that the Cougars were beat in the final four and were defeated by the eventual state championship team.
Clarksville Academy finished their season with a record of 26-8 under first-year head coach Matt Hoppe and were named regional champions during their playoff run.
