CLARKSVILLE, TN – Richview Middle School football, coached by Joshua Richards, hosted New Providence Middle School for its CMCSS district-opener on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Richview Middle School Cowboys are the reigning three-time CMCSS champions. The Cowboys dominated this football game in the first half, 18-0, by halftime. New Providence Middle School Mustangs held it together to try to make a comeback in the second half. At the end of regulation, the score was 32-21 with the Richview Cowboys taking home the win.
Richview Middle School Football program had several standout athletes.
Offense:
- MarQualus 9 rushes for 257 yards and 4 touchdowns
- Alex Hines was 5/15 passing for 72 yards with a touchdown pass and a 2-point conversion
- Maks Andre had a 13-yard touchdown reception
- Liam Hall had 2 receptions for 23 yards
Defense:
- Jamie Cole had 7 tackles and a forced fumble
- Mekhi Craig had 2 tackles, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery
- Moses Oscar had 3 tackles
- Jeremiah Merced had 3 tackles and one for a loss
- Kolby Butler had 3 tackles and one for a loss
- Eli Hix had 3 tackles and one for a loss
- Tafton Filgis had 2 tackles for loss
- Tristan Clark had 4 tackles
- Tucker Ziolkowski had 5 tackles
- Bennett Cochrane had 3 tackles
