Richard Joseph McCaskill, 67, of Clarksville, TN, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Spring Meadows Healthcare. He was born November 29, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Richard Earl McCaskill and Francis Sherman McCaskill. He was also preceded in death by his great grandchild, Jerico McCaskill and father and mother-in-law, Robert Frehulfer, Sr. and Margaret Frehuler.
Funeral mass will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the hour of service Friday, January 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
Richard was a Retired SSG with the U.S. Army, having served tours in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Galantry Medal. He was also a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, VVA Chapter 396, lifetime member of the NRA, AARP, and the Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife, Janice McCaskill; son, Ivan (Meghan) McCaskill; daughter, Dawn-Star (Joshua) Cobb; brother, Phillip (Kathy) McCaskill; two sisters, Nancy (Pete) Peterson and Debra (James) Neal; five grandchildren, Joseph McCaskill, Cody (Elizabeth Dickey) McCaskill, Joshua Cobb, Randall McCaskill, and Charles Donahoo; great grandchild, Liam McCaskill; and military brothers, Rock (Tina) Sauce and Felix (Carmen).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
