CLARKSVILLE, TN − Thomas West, and his crew from Renegade Racing Clarksville, took on the Wisconsin Outlaw Stick Shift Challenge held at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin last weekend. This event consisted of the fastest stick shift race cars in the world – with many holding world records. This was no challenge for Thomas and his crew.
During the event, Thomas set a world record consisting of the world’s fastest H-pattern S2000, not once but twice. Thomas ran a 7.90 at 184.08 mph in the quarter mile and then a 7.58 at 190 mph. Unfortunately, when Thomas was heading into the semi-finals, he picked up a rivet in the burnout box which led to a blown tire cutting his race short. Although this was an unfortunate way to go out, major accomplishments were made during this race. Thomas West’s LS powered S2000 is officially known as the world’s fastest H-pattern stick shift S2000.
This isn’t the end for Thomas and his crew. Their next goal is to break into the 6’s. Follow along for their journey of future record-breaking moments @stickshiftracing on all social media platforms.
Renegade Racing and Performance will be opening a new facility in Clarksville in 2025. The facility is under construction at Guthrie Highway and Hampton Station Road. Not only will the new location be the headquarters of the race team, but it’ll continue to draw other teams from across the country to get work done.
