Montgomery County, TN – In light of the recent tornados in Oklahoma, the Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency is asking local citizens that own a storm shelter to please register it on their website.
EMA Director Jerry Buchanan states, “Given the recent events in Oklahoma, we feel it is necessary to have our shelter information as current as possible for the safety of our citizens.
We ask citizens to help us be prepared for any future incidents by registering their storm shelters on our website.” He continues, “By having a list of the shelter locations, should we have a devastating weather event in the future, we will know potential rescue locations for our residents.”
Storm Shelter registration is quick and easy – visit www.mcgtn.org/ema and click on the Storm Shelter Registry link on the left hand side of the page and fill out the form.
