CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – On Sunday, September 8, the congregation of Real Life Sango Church celebrated their one-year anniversary with 489 people in attendance.
Real Life Sango opened its doors on September 9, 2018 after years of prayer and months of groundwork from pastors and others in Clarksville, Pleasant View and Joelton. The first worship service was held at Carmel Elementary School that day.
Three of the pastors who helped establish the church were guests at the anniversary celebration. Willie Lyle, pastor of Sango United Methodist Church, as well as Chris Royalty and Ben Adkinson, pastors of 24 Church in Pleasant View, spoke to the congregation about the burden and the prayers that finally became Real Life Sango. David Royalty, pastor of First Baptist Church Joelton, sent in a video message that was shared with the church about a dream he had years ago for this new church in Sango.
Real Life Sango planter and pastor, Freddy T. Wyatt, and his wife Susan, are natives of Clarksville. Wyatt had been a church planer in New York City and was a pastor in Scottsdale, Az before moving home to Clarksville in December of 2017.
After meeting with the local pastors who had been praying for this work long before he knew about the opportunity, Pastor Wyatt felt led by God to come back to Clarksville and to join dozens of locals in bringing Real Life Sango to the community.
Real Life Sango has also announced the addition of a second worship service beginning October 6, 2019. With an average weekly attendance of 325, Real Life Sango is making room for more people. Service times will be 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Childcare for babies-5th grade will be available during both services. Real Life Sango meets at Carmel Elementary School, which is located at 4925 Sango Road.
