CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to progress, and businesses temporarily shut their doors, many Tennesseans are looking for things to do while stuck at home. Imagination Library founder, Tennessee icon and self professed ‘book lady,’ Dolly Parton has come to the rescue with a new, upcoming video series titled ‘Goodnight With Dolly.”
The 10-week series will feature Dolly herself sharing some of her favorite stories from the Imagination Library. It will premier weekly beginning on April 2 via Youtube.

Imagination Library has also provided an activity sheet to accompany the first reading, which can be downloaded and printed here.
The project hopes to give children and families a way to spend time together and foster a love of reading through shared story time.
The first story in the series will be Watty Piper’s “The Little Engine that Could,” which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year. It is also the welcome book that Imagination Library sends to all of their newly registered children in the U.S and Canada. Its one of Dolly’s personal favorites, and she considers it inspirational.
“Dolly hopes this series will provide comfort and reassurance to coping kids and families during the shelter-in-place mandates,” says the Imagination Library website.
