CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Montgomery County officials will be holding an informational meeting regarding the new North Clarksville Library Branch and Animal Control facility, which will share property.

Property was purchased in 2018 for the library at 435 Jordan Road. After years of delays due to Covid, the library and design funds were approved for the FY23 capital projects budget.

The idea for both entities to share property came from County Commissioner Joe Smith, with former County Mayor Jim Durrett saying, “With downsizing the library, we’re going to be able to put the new Animal Control facility on that piece of property.”

Animal Control Director David Kaske explained how moving locations would help Animal Care and Control. “The new facility will be conducive to getting to that goal of becoming a no-kill shelter because it will have a surgery suite, and hopefully we can have our own veterinarian.”

The informational meeting will take place on Thursday, April 13, at the Kleeman Recreation Center at 166 Cunningham Lane from 6-7:15 p.m.
