CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW.COM) – Clarksville Academy hosted Perry County Friday night at Simpson Field in a Region 6A matchup.
The Cougars’ playoff hopes still remained alive to win the last two games, and get some help from some other teams.
The Academy got out to a quick start when sophomore quarterback Bryce Robinson hit Eli Norman on the second play of the game for a 55 yard touchdown. Perry County would then answer with a scoring drive of their own. Robinson then hit senior Garrett Bauer on a 33 yard touchdown. The sophomore QB then would hit senior Noah Clayton on a 25 yard score.
The scoring would continue throughout the game. Perry County did take the lead midway through the 4th 54-49, but that lead would be short lived. With touchdown pass to sophomore TJ Jenkins, and then Bauer again, the Cougars pulled away. Garrett Bragg would then seal the deal with a 27 touchdown run and a secured a 70-54 win.
Robinson would end the night 20-25 for 366 yards that included 7 TD passes to 4 different receivers, and a 24 yard touchdown run.
The Cougars host Houston County next Friday night at 7pm at Simpson Field for their regular season finale. With the win, CA improves to 2-6 on the season.
