CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Claire Rachel Wilkinson, known as Clairity, is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter who now calls Clarksville her home.
Growing up in Nashville and White House TN, Claire began writing poetry and short stories in high school, and shortly thereafter, taught herself to play piano. She turned many of her poems into songs and her incisive commentary and unique vocals quickly caught the attention of industry professionals.
Influenced by Coldplay, Radiohead, Fiona Apple, and Imogen Heap, she molds her own distinctive sound with minimalist electronic textures and haunting melodies.
Clairity’s 2015 Alienation EP was championed by local radio station Q108 and also caught the attention of Billboard Magazine, which said “Synth-pop fans need to get hip to Clairity immediately.”
The artist will host a meet and greet Feb. 18 from 1-3 p.m. at HeartSpace Studio located in the Tree of Life Center (30 Crossland Avenue).
Clairity will present her art on canvas and talk about her songwriting.
The event is free, but seating is limited. Reservations are required by Feb. 16. You can email Rita Arancibia at artsforheartsclarksville@gmail.com.
