GUTHRIE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) are seeking information related to a 2015 home invasion and murder on Old Trenton Road in Guthrie, Ky.
Police say they were called on June 28, 2015 to a home on Old Trenton Road where relatives had found 79-year-old Amos Yoder dead and his wife, 75-year-old Marjorie Yoder, seriously injured.
At approximately 8:07 a.m. that day, dispatch received a call from Enos Yoder, who said that someone had broken into his father’s home. Enos believed his father, Amos Yoder, had been assaulted and died as a result. Police later confirmed Yoder died of blunt force trauma.
Enos also told police his step mother, 75-year-old Marjorie Yoder, was in the home but he did not know her condition.
Investigators determined that while Mr. and Mrs. Yoder were sleeping, unknown suspects broke into their home and demanded money. The Yoders were both bound and assaulted during the robbery.
Mr. Yoder died as a result of his injuries. Mrs. Yoder was transported and treated for serious injuries sustained during the robbery.
The suspects got away with an unknown amount of money.

Detectives collected multiple pieces of evidence and a specialized team processed the home for fingerprints. Several items were taken into evidence and are being examined for DNA.
Since the murder, multiple interviews have been conducted, however, no arrests have been made at this time.

A source, close to the victims since childhood, described the Yoders as wonderful people.
“We never have murders in Todd County, especially in the Amish community,” she said in 2015. “That’s just not something you hear of at all.”
