CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville Police officer was rushed to a hospital after exposure to meth-making materials during a traffic stop near Cumberland Bank on Dover Road Thursday, Nov. 7 around 8:49 p.m.
According to Officer Natalie Hall with the Clarksville Police Department, drugs were found in the vehicle, as well as an unknown liquid substance in a bottle.
A portion of Dover Road was closed while Hazmat crews cleared the area. The bottle contained muriatic acid, which is used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Police found paraphernalia including digital scales, cut straws, and apple bags. A gram of white powder meth and amphetamine pills were also found.
Tamera Dennis, 18, was charged with two counts of Schedule 2 drug violations and promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing. Drug Task Force agents neutralized the acid, and police say this was not a meth lab.
The officers who were exposed to the acid were decontaminated. There is no further information at this time.
