Update, 4:35 p.m.: The subject was safely taken into custody at about noon, and there were no injuries to either officers or the subject, Spielhagen said. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of domestic assault, interference with 911 and violation of probation.

Update, 12:15 p.m.: The subject has been taken into custody, CPD said, adding that the public was never in danger during the incident. “CPD wants to thank the public for their cooperation in avoiding the area. Updates will be released after the subject is booked into the Montgomery County Jail.”

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Police established a perimeter and were negotiating with a man barricaded in a home in the Greenwood area of south Clarksville Wednesday morning.

The domestic-related incident in the 700 Block of Monroe Street, off Sevenmile Ferry Road, began at around midnight and remains confined to one home, according to Clarksville Police Lt. Melissa Spielhagen.

Two people safely left the residence initially, and a second person in the home left around 5 a.m., but the male subject remained inside as of 6:25 a.m.

CPD is asking residents in the immediate area to remain indoors if possible. Monroe Street is closed to traffic near the scene and will remain closed until the situation is safely resolved, Spielhagen said.
