CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Police have apprehended a suspect in a fatal crash that claimed the life of 19-year-old APSU student Danielle Hutchinson in December 2013.
The suspect had five petitions on file through juvenile court for vehicular homicide, aggravated assault (two counts), accidents involving death, and false reports.
ORGINAL REPORT: According to Officer Natalie Hall, a 2008 Ford Explorer was stolen by two suspects Dec. 10, 2013 in the area of Lafayette Rd. The passenger was described as a black female with long straight hair. No description was provided for the driver.
The suspects were speeding on Kelsey Dr. when the Explorer collided with a 2003 Buick Regal backing out of a driveway. Tyjuan Northington, 24, was driving the Regal and was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
A juvenile passenger was taken to Gateway Medical Center, and the other passenger, Danielle Hutchinson (19), died from her injuries sustained in the crash.
Both occupants of the Explorer were unrestrained and believed to be in their late teens to early twenties. They fled from the scene following the crash.
