CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Early voting for the Aug. 6 election ended Saturday, Aug. 1, and election officials said more than 10,000 voters cast an early ballot.
Early voting for the Aug. 6 Tennessee state primary and Montgomery County general election was held at the Montgomery County Election Commission Office in Veterans Plaza.
“We ended up having 10,867 people that showed up in person,” said Elizabeth Black, administrator of elections for Montgomery County. “That’s a very good showing for Montgomery County and we hope many more will show up on Thursday for Election Day.”
There are currently more than 121,000 registered voters in Montgomery County, Black said.
Election Day
Races on the Aug. 6 ballot for the Tennessee State Primary include seats for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, State Senate and State House of Representatives.
For the Montgomery County general Election ballot, races will be decided for Highway Supervisor, Assessor of Property, Circuit Court Judge Part V, and School Board Districts 2, 3, 4, & 6.
All voting on Election Day will take place at 29 polling places in the 21 districts throughout Montgomery County with no ballots being cast at the Montgomery County Election Commission.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Black reminds everyone to be sure and carry your federally issued or Tennessee photo ID when you go to vote.
COVID-19 safety measures, including wearing of masks and social distancing, will also be required for voters at the precincts.
