CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –  A Stewart County man is facing charges of vehicular homicide following a crash Sunday that killed a biker on Madison Street.

Jonathon Olson, 18, of Dover allegedly turned in front of an oncoming motorcycle at Memorial Drive, according to Officer Natalie Hall. The victim died at the scene.

The passenger on the motorcycle was Lifeflighted to Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police have not released the names of the victims due to issues contacting next of kin.

Olson admitted drinking a beer and smoking marijuana before the crash. Police say items found in his car tested positive for THC.

He initially refused field sobriety tests and a warrant was obtained for a blood draw, which was conducted at booking. His blood alcohol concentration was 0.071.

Olson failed to present his driver’s license, but records show he has a valid license on file. He was also unable to provide proof of insurance.

Olson is charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, simple possession, failure to exhibit driver’s license, and failure to yield, resulting in death or injury.
