Update, Monday, 12 p.m.: The victim in the shooting on Caldwell Lane has been identified as 39-year-old Brian Williamson, who is from Jackson according to a news release from Gill.
The investigation is still active, and there are no further details available at this time.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A shooting that occurred on Caldwell Lane Friday night resulted in one fatality. Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
Clarksville Police Department responded to a shooting in progress at approximately 10:50 p.m. in the 200 block of Caldwell Lane. When officers arrived, a male victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds, according to CPD spokesman Charles Gill.
The victim was transported to Tennova Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives with the Special Operation Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Team are actively investigating the the shooting. At this time, it is believed that the victim and the suspect are acquainted and that this was not a random act.
