INDIAN MOUND, Tenn. – Mandy Williams, owner of Lylewood Inn Bed and Breakfast, wants to enjoy a relaxed Halloween evening with guests sitting around a bonfire. So at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 she hopes people will enjoy one with her at the inn. It is located at 110 Camp Lylewood Road in Indian Mound, which is between Clarksville and Dover.

“It’s the first time we’ve done it and it’s going to very relaxed,” Williams says.

The inn will provide chili, chicken stew and hot dogs cooked over the fire, along with s’mores and cupcakes. There is no charge, but tips are appreciated. An RSVP is appreciated, as well, but is not required. If you plan to attend, please call Williams at 931-232-4203. For more details visit the inn’s website at www.lylewoodinn.com.

Williams says that the inn is going to provide storytelling, a scary nature hike and a hay ride in a truck.

“I think it’s a cool place and we try to have people come out,” Williams says.

Spooky stories won’t be told around the bonfire, but there will be stories about the historic inn. Guests are encouraged to tell their own stories.
As for the children, there will be simple games, such as “ring toss on the pumpkin,” but there won’t be any sort of trick-or-treating for candy.

There will be a prize for best costume, however.

The inn was built as a private home in 1892 and its architecture is done in the Greek revival style. In addition to operating as a bed and breakfast, the inn also offers home-like atmosphere for extended stays (children and pets are welcome).
