CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville–Montgomery County Public Library will dedicate its Children’s Programming Room at the North Branch in honor of Dr. Harold F. Vann, following a generous gift from an anonymous donor. The dedication will take place during a special commemorative story time event on May 16 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
A respected pediatrician who served the Clarksville community for nearly four decades, Dr. Vann devoted his life to the health and well-being of children and families. His career included leadership roles in hospitals, professional organizations, and community health initiatives, as well as ongoing service after his retirement in 1995.
Born in Dayton and raised in Cumberland County, Dr. Vann developed an early passion for science and medicine that led him to graduate with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
“This dedication ensures that Dr. Vann’s impact will continue for generations,” said Christina Riedel, Library Director. “It is fitting that a space devoted to children’s growth and imagination bears the name of someone who gave so much to their care and future.”
