CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The City of Clarksville’s new Red River East Trailhead will open with an official ceremony at 820 Kraft Street on Saturday, April 24., 10 a.m., National Trails Day.
The new section of trail connects the Clarksville Riverwalk, Red River, and APSU’s new Greenway trail, marking another significant step in making Clarksville a more pedestrian friendly city.
The site also provides a new parking lot for visitors to the Greenway.

The grand opening event will feature local businesses and organizations. The city will also present details on future Greenway expansions.
Clarksville Parks & Recreation Director Jennifer Letourneau said the new trail is a major step toward the final phase.
“The Red River East Trail puts us even closer to connecting the Clarksville Greenway to the Riverwalk.” Letourneau said. “Once the pedestrian bridge is built across the Red River, citizens will enjoy nine miles of trail that span from North Clarksville to downtown.”
The event is free and open to the public. Masks are highly recommended.
