CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board (IDB) announced Monday that FNS Group has chosen Clarksville as the location for its newest distribution center, creating 62 new jobs.
This project brings an investment of $33.4 million and the warehouse, once completed, will serve as a 300,000-square foot distribution center, according to a news release from the IDB.
FNS Group is a global logistics service, specializing in the electronics, machinery, construction, distribution, and energy industries. Companies already in the area, such as Hankook Tire and LG Electronics, also partnered with FNS Group for logistics.
A subsidiary of FNS Group, Pantos USA, is LG’S primary global shipment logistics partner. They currently employ 18 locally, and will be expanding their presence with this new facility.
The press release also says the new warehouse and distribution center will be located in the North Industrial Park behind LG’s Appliance manufacturing facility. The new warehouse and distribution center will serve customers in the Southeast and Midwest parts of the country.
“Clarksville’s strategic location, within a day’s drive of most major US cities, provides a major advantage for logistics companies like FNS Group,” said Frank Tate, executive director of Clarksville-Montgomery County’s IDB, in the news release.
“This partnership is very beneficial to local industries like LG but will also support regional industrial needs,” Tate said.
“I’m thrilled that yet another company has selected Montgomery County as a place to call home. As a logistics company, FNS has chosen the perfect central location to serve their clients all over the United States. Despite the global pandemic, Montgomery County continues to attract global companies and adds to the list of available job opportunities for our current residents, military veterans, and newcomers. I’m looking forward to working with the Pantos leadership team,” said Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.
