CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The weekly summer concert series, Mic Check Monday, is back July 15 at the Downtown Commons. The free concert will feature soul, R&B, county and rock music, as well as dance lessons. The music will begin at 6 p.m.
Opening the event is Michael Bryant, a local country/rock/blues musician. He can be found playing at the River Club on Friday evenings.
Ballroom Dance Studios will offer free lessons until 7:00 p.m. No partner is needed, and beginners are welcome. Participants will learn dance moves that can be put to use during the night’s second act.
Angelia Williams will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Angelia is a singer/songwriter specializing in soul and R&B. She has been touring since age 14 and has worked with many prominent gospel artists. Her voice studio has received the Nashville’s Best Award in the category of Vocal Coach from 2013 to 2018.
Angelia is also an award-winning songwriter, receiving The Akademia award for Best R&B/Soul Song in May 2017 and the Best Female R&B Artist award of 2018 from the Music City Hip Hop Awards.
Presented by Visit Clarksville, CDE Lightband and Downtown Commons, Mic Check Monday offers different genres of music each Monday in July. All concerts will begin at 6 p.m. when weather allows.
No food or drink will be offered on-site. Guests may bring food and chairs, but no alcohol is allowed in the park.
