CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The 2025-26 high school baseball season was a fun one, with standout performances all over Montgomery County. Let’s take a look at some of the top individuals over the course of the spring season.

All statistics were contributed by Clarksville-area coaches.

All Area Baseball Team

Dylan Fulton, Catcher, Montgomery Central – Fulton amassed a .406 batting average and a .600 on-base percentage as a slugger for the Indians. Fulton had 30 hits, including seven doubles, three triples, and three homers, while earning All-District and All-Tournament honors.

Colton Wallace, Infielder, Clarksville Academy – Wallace was incredibly efficient at the plate, hitting for a .489 average with 14 doubles, six triples, one home run, and batting in 30 runs. Wallace also battled in every plate appearance, only striking out five times for the whole season.

Karter Pledger, Infielder, Clarksville – Pledger, The District 13-4A offensive player of the year, earned a .418 batting average, earning 38 hits, batting in 29 runs, and stealing 15 bases.

Lucas Lingg, Infielder, Clarksville – Lingg hit for a .381 average this season, with a .444 on-base percentage and a .466 slugging percentage. An All-District 13-4A selection, Lingg collected 45 hits and drove in 36 runs.

Keaton Anderson, Outfielder, Clarksville High – Anderson dominated with the bat, earning a .500 batting average with a .594 on-base percentage, earning 60 hits, stealing 50 bases, which was tied for the most in the state, batting in 32 runs, and earning the district 13-4A MVP.

Jackson Perry, Outfielder, Rossview – Perry, a FAMU signee, hit for a .429 batting average with 51 hits, six home runs, batting in 30 runs, while earning All-District honors. Perry also stole 21 bases as a runner.

Benton Barksdale, Outfielder, Clarksville – Barksdale earned 44 hits and stole 41 bases in his senior season, earning a .333 batting average and a .437 on base percentage, leading him to All-District 13-4A honors.

Tristen Cobbler, Outfielder, Clarksville Academy – Cobbler hit for a .398 batting average in his senior season for the Cobras, hitting 8 doubles, three triples, knocking in 28 runs, and stealing 10 bases as a runner.

Lucas Parker, Utility, Northwest – Parker did a lot for the Vikings, both at the plate and on the mound. Parker hit .368 on the year with eight doubles, one homer, and drove in 25 runs. Parker also pitched 25 innings for Northwest, earning 3 wins.

Jayden Gaylor, Utility, Rossview – Gaylor did just about everything for the Hawks this season. On the mound, the district 13-4A Pitcher of the Year pitched 55.2 innings with a 6-3 record, striking out 73 and earning a 2.39 ERA. Gaylor also hit well at the plate, with a .303 average and a .401 on-base percentage, batting in 31 runs.

Matthew Heimpel, Pitcher, Montgomery Central – Heimpel was undefeated on the mound with a 7-0 record, earning an outstanding 0.83 ERA in 43 innings pitched, striking out 55

Cole Wethington, Pitcher, Kirkwood – Wethington excelled as the ace for the Cobras, going 9-5 overall over 34.2 innings pitched, while striking out 66, and earning a 1.817 ERA.

Player of the Year, among other awards

Player of the Year- Keaton Anderson, Clarksville High – Anderson was the best hitter in Clarksville this season, with a .500 batting average and a .594 on-base percentage, earning 60 hits, stealing 50 bases, which was tied for the most in the state, batting in 32 runs, and earning the district 13-4A MVP. His consistency at the plate, along with his track star speed on the base paths, earns him Clarksville Now’s Player of the Year

Pitcher of the Year-Jayden Gaylor, Rossview – Gaylor, the District 13-4A pitcher of the year, struck out 73 of his 175 batters faced this season. He earned a 2.39 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP, while also providing offense with the bat for the Hawks. Gaylor, who will be taking his talents to Walters State next season, earns Clarkville Now’s Pitcher of the Year.

Freshman of the Year- Anderson McAfee, Clarksville – McAfee batted .321 with a .439 on-base percentage in his freshman season. McAfee collected 25 hits, drove in 20 runs, and was selected as the district 13-4A Freshman of the Year, earning him Clarksville Now’s Freshman of the Year

Coach of the Year – Todd Dunn, Montgomery Central- Dunn, the longest tenured coach in Montgomery County, led the Indians to 22 wins this spring and a regular-season District 11-3A title. For the Indians’ winning season and consistent play, Dunn earns Clarksville Now’s Coach of the Year.

Team of the Year- Clarksville Wildcats- The Wildcats were the only team in Clarksville to hoist a district championship trophy this season, and also the only one to qualify for a sectional series. The Wildcats went 32-10, earning District 13-4A championship and Region 7-4A runner-up honors.
