Funeral service for Marion “Poppy” Parker Holt, age 87 of Clarksville, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Claude Holt will officiate. Burial will follow in the E. N. Gupton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2015 and from noon until the time of service on Monday at the Sykes Funeral Home.
“Poppy” passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Signature Health Care of Clarksville.
She was born on April 9, 1928 in Cheatham County, TN to William and Mae Stuart Gupton. She was a member of Hickory Point Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband (of 65 years on July 4th) Dillard Holt and granddaughter Ginger Buckner.
She is survived by her Sons, Billy (Anita) Holt; Kenneth Holt; Daughters, Parker Ann (Kelly) Parker; Jean (Royce) Buckner; Grandchildren, Chris Parker, Kelly Diane (Danny) Deffendoll, Bobbie (Jessie) Hamlan, Jeremy Holt, Eric (Heather)Holt, Mitzi, Amber, and Jordan Buckner and 7 great grandchildren.
