Margaret Holt Reeves, age 92, of Clarksville, went to be with Jesus on March 26, 2022.
A native of Montgomery County, she was the daughter of John Laughren Holt and Ethel Tucker Holt.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, James Robert Reeves, two brothers, John L. Holt Jr. and Robert Buford Holt, and two sisters, Jo Holt Bryant and Wanda Holt Head. Although she never had children of her own, she is survived by nieces and nephews in many states who cherished the time they spent with her.
After marrying the love of her life, they lived in Paducah Kentucky, where she continued her professional career as a clerk for the city judge. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Fairhope, Alabama where they made lifelong friends and enjoyed playing bridge, the beach and traveling.
In 2006, she moved back to Clarksville, where her sister Jo’s children, Jimmy (Debbie) Bryant, Pat (Terry) Bryant, Laughrie (Tom) Tucker, and Gaynor (Scott) Bibb became “her kids”. It was here that she became a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church, where she made lasting friends and enjoyed serving the Lord.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to several groups of people who made her final years and days abundantly fulfilling. To all her friends at Fieldstone, you became a second family to her as she walked the halls, enjoyed long talks with the Breakfast club, and played bridge with you. We would also like to acknowledge Dr. David Boles and the staff at Tennova Hospice for their care. Lastly, we could not have made this journey without the wonderful care given to our “Aunt Margy” by her caregivers, Vicky Stone, Amber Galemore, and LaShica Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hilldale United Methodist Church and Chapel Hill Christian Academy. According to her wishes, her remains were cremated and there will be no public funeral service. The family will celebrate a life well-lived at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison Street Clarksville, TN 37040; (931)408-9690.
