CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Manna Café Ministries will host its second annual Chili Cook-off Friday, October 11 in Strawberry Alley, located in downtown Clarksville.
Teams can have up to six members and must prepare their chili on-site to be judged that evening. Activities include live music, a pirate costume contest, booth theme contest, andchili judging! The grand prize is valued at $1,000.
Teams must prepare a minimum of six gallons of chili and judging will take place at 4:30 p.m., with the event opening to the public at 4 p.m. Crowd goers are encourage to sample and vote for their favorite entry.
Entry fee for teams is $100. Local bands will take the stage at 4 p.m. and chili winners will be announced at 9 p.m. To enter a chili team, or for more information on the event, email pirates@mannacafeministries.com.
Musical acts include Mike Robinson, Syd Hedrick and The Falcons, Gypsy and Mother Earth.
Strawberry Alley will be closed to parking and through traffic between First and Second streets from 8 a.m. to midnight.
Manna Café Ministries is a faith-based organization devoted to meeting the needs of homeless and low-income families in Montgomery County. Each week, Manna Café provides hot meals and food boxes to over 500 local citizens, serving three meals a week. All proceeds will remain local and assist and feed Clarksvillians in need.
