CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Rho Mu Zeta, Clarksville, TN will hold a personal supplies donation to Serenity House Clarksville on January 16, 2017 at the annual MLK Day Clarksville Day of Service at Burt Elementary School in support of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated -Global Day of Service.

The Day of Service is part of a year-long campaign for 2017 focusing on the Sorority’s principle of “Service” as the organization strives to complete 20 million hours of service during its journey to Zeta’s Centennial anniversary in the year 2020.

During the event hosted by Rho Mu Zeta, volunteers will distribute bags with needed toiletries for the women and families served by Serenity House, a temporary housing facility for victims of domestic violence. Rho Mu Zeta contributes over 8,000 items a year to local community organizations, and has donated over $5,000 to the community over the last year.

“Service is one of our founding principles, so it is not only our priviledge to give but it is our passion. We are excited to participate in this year’s Global Day of service with our other 100,000 sorority sisters world wide,” said Dr. Erin Lynch-Alexander, President of Rho Mu Zeta Chapter, Clarksville.
