An APSU graduate, PJ Shortt came to Clarksville in 1992 and served as an Apache Electrician in the military for six years. After his military career he managed a large power sports facility until 2011, where he picked up his passion in hardscape and started AR Stoneworks in 2012. PJ is ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute), PICP (Permeable interlocking concrete pavement), NCMA (National Concrete & Masonry Association), & AB (Allan Block) Contractor certified. He specializes in design and excels at turning a blank canvas into a backyard oasis.
Although he’s only been with AR Stoneworks for under a year, Amir is no stranger to handling the day-to-day operations that come with running a business. Originally from California, Amir ran his family’s businesses before moving to Clarksville. He is ICPI, APSP (Association of Pool & Spa Professionals), & AB Contractor certified.
General Manager Joe Layton started with AR Stoneworks over three years ago. Joe, who is ICPI Certified, has an extensive knowledge of the products at AR Stoneworks, from outdoor kitchens to stone. When Joe’s not working he’s spending time with his wife, Rachel, and daughter Layla.
Jarrod David has been with AR Stoneworks for over five years, and is ICPI, APSP, & AB Contractor certified. Jarrod manages the day-to-day activity and crews on each AR Stoneworks project. Jarrod will also be starting a new role as a father soon as he patiently waits for his new baby on the way!
Gaylene is no stranger to this industry. She has been in the construction industry for over 25 years, with over four of those years being for hardscaping. She takes care of multiple areas that keep AR Stoneworks up and running, such as accounts receivable, payroll, and more.
