Lacy “Chip” Batts, age 56, of Clarksville, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville. He was born in Clarksville to the late Lacy V. Batts and Ruth Miller Batts.

Chip was a member of First Christian Church.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held on Wednesday, February 5 at Greenwood Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Peter Davenport, Susan Davenport, Melinda Geary, Johnny Shelton, Richard Coleman, Johnny Powell, Lyle Evans, Cliff Keen, and Jimmy Lyle.

Mr. Batts is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Bennett Batts; sister, Amanda Batts, of Foley, AL; aunt, Dorothy Davenport; two sisters-in-law, Beth Crawford and Des Huser; three nephews, Wendell Jimerson, Mitchell Webb, and Slate Huser; and four nieces, Lacy Delaino, Morgan Meredith, Allie Huser, and Lizzie Webb.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church Food Bank, 516 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040, or to a charity of your choice.
