CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kirkwood High School has announced the hiring of Tenisha Lockridge as head girls’ basketball coach, their third coach in program history.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Lockridge to the Kirkwood family,” said Kirkwood Athletic Director Joshua Stoeckl. “Her coaching philosophy aligns perfectly with our mission to foster excellence through teamwork, discipline, work ethic and community involvement. We’re confident she will elevate our girls’ basketball program to new heights.”

Lockridge played basketball at Brentwood Academy, where she won a state championship during her sophomore season in 2006. During her senior season, she was named a Moss Basketball Finalist and was a McDonald’s All-American nominee. She averaged 14 points, 3 assists and 3 steals during her game as an Eagle.

She then went on to play at Chattanooga, where she played in 127 games during her career as a Moc, starting most of those games at point guard. In her senior season, Tenisha averaged 4.3 points, 2.7 assists, and only 1 turnover per contest.

Her coaching career has spanned the high school and college ranks. In 2012-13, she served as an assistant for Chattanooga State College. She coached in Texas at Northbrook High School in 2022, then Benjamin Davis High School in 2023-24.

Lockridge takes over as the third coach in three years for the Lady Cobras, following up Chris Carney and Micah Rochester.
