CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kirkwood High junior quarterback Miles Reding has been named Clarksville Now’s Player of the Week following his performance in the Cobras’ 49-14 win over Dickson County during the week of Monday, Sept. 22.

During the contest, Reding completed 17 passes for 279 passing yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions, and he also rushed nine times for 74 rushing yards. His performance helped lead the Cobras to their first-ever victory over Dickson County.

“Being named Clarksville Now Player of the Week for the second time in my career really means a lot to me,” Reding told Clarksville Now. “It’s a great feeling to see my hard work being recognized. I’m thankful for my coaches, teammates, and everyone who supports me.”

Coaches corner

“Miles played a great game,” said Kirkwood head coach Chad Watson. “He made great decisions in the passing game, taking care of the football and going through his progressions. He also did a really good job in the run game, making his reads and pulling and pitching the ball on the perimeter.

“Miles has put in a lot of work this offseason, so I’m happy to see him get recognition for his hard work. His production on Friday night was a result of his offensive line and skill guys playing well, too,” Watson said.

2025-26 season

Knocking off Dickson County was a big win for Kirkwood, as they have now clinched a playoff berth for their second consecutive year and move to 3-0 against region opponents.

For Reding, individually, he’s already thrown for more than 1,000 passing, with 13 touchdown passes and only 3 interceptions.

Reding has also been dangerous in the open field as he has compiled 276 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
