CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kirkwood High Athletic Director Joshua Stoeckl announced in a press release on Wednesday that head girls’ basketball coach Micah Rochester has resigned from his position, effective immediately.

“We respect Coach Rochester’s decision and appreciate the hard work and dedication he has shown in his brief time as the girls’ basketball coach,” said Stoeckl. “He has left the program in a much stronger position, and we are confident that the foundation he laid will continue to propel the team forward.”

The Cobras went 10-17 in their one year under Rochester, finishing 3rd in district 13-4A. It was an improvement from their 4-16 record they compiled last year under former head coach Chris Carney, who is now an assistant coach at Gallatin High School.

Kirkwood will now begin a search for their third head coach in program history. The hire will be their third head coach in three years.
