CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Kirkwood High School senior linebacker Elijah Fuller is making history as the first-ever student member of the CMCSS Board of Education. Fuller was elected by members of the High School Student Advisory and will begin his duties this month.
“I first became interested in being the student representative when I learned of the opportunity to be a voice for the students in my community,” said Fuller. “I wanted to ensure that student perspectives were heard when making decisions. “I have learned the importance of accountability, which is, in my opinion, one of the most valuable characteristics of a strong leader.

”I want to bring an honest and relevant student perspective that reflects the opinions, desires, and concerns of the students in CMCSS.”
In May, the School Board voted to add the new, non-voting student member. The student is expected to be involved in discussions of School Board matters up for a vote and to provide feedback on behalf of their student peers.
Fuller himself is making history off the field, and his Cobra squad on the field is making history as well, tallying an impressive 6-1 record in only their third year as a program. No one is happier that Fuller will be representing the school system than his head coach, Chad Watson.
“Elijah is the perfect representative of Kirkwood football and Kirkwood High School,” said Watson. “He is a young man of extremely high character and a selfless teammate. I am so proud of him for being chosen, and I know he will work as hard as he can to represent the students of CMCSS to the best of his ability.”
