CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Kenwood won their Homecoming game against West Creek with a final score of 26-16.

This is a district rivalry and with both schools located just a couple miles apart on Peachers Mill Rd., they have named this game “The Battle of the Mill” and winner keeps the trophy for the year.

The game was pretty sloppy with many turnovers for both teams. West Creek was leading 10-6 going into halftime.

During a halftime ceremony, Taylor Mathews and Amber Gallegos were named the 2017 Homecoming King and Queen.

In the second half, it was pretty much all Kenwood. It looked like the Donte Mayberry and Caleb Mcqueen show. Once Mayberry gets to the outside he’s hard to stop. He had three touchdowns on the night.

McQueen was a playmaker on both sides of the ball. He made two game-changing catches for large gains. One play caught an interception and the very next play he caught a touchdown.

West Creek’s record moves to 4-3 and plays Henry County next Friday.

Kenwood’s record is 3-4 and plays Clarksville High next Thursday.
