CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Kenwood High is happy to announce Mrs. Emily Abshire Chiu as Head Girls Soccer Coach.

“We are exited about the future of our program under her direction,” Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Garry Chadwell said.

Chiu is from Spring, TX where she grew up playing soccer for several clubs through high school.

She received her bachelors degree from Texas A&M University in Sports Management with minors in Business and Recreation Tourism in December 2015. While studying for her degree, she worked for the Texas A&M Soccer team for two years.

“Because of my work with TAMU soccer, I am a proud owner of an SEC title and Final Four ring. I also coached at the Texas A&M Soccer Camps and for Hot Shots Soccer,” Chiu said.

Chiu will graduate from Texas Women’s University this December with a masters degree in Kinesiology concentrating in coaching. Last November she and her husband, a lieutenant in the Army, moved to Clarksville where she worked for Soccer Shots as a coach and administrator.
