A Celebration of Life service for Jerry Wayne Clifton, age 79, of Clarksville, TN, will be Monday, July 31, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Jerry was born in Lawrenceburg, TN, on November 3, 1943, to James and Bessie Clifton. He passed away on July 26, 2023. Jerry was a member of Chapel Hill UMC and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved life, fishing, hunting, and through farming and gardening, he was always feeding people. Jerry also liked to make wine and sausage.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Clifton and sister, Betty Lois Davenport. Jerry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan Clifton; children: Tonia (Keith) Summerville, Michael Wiles, and Eric (Amanda) Wiles; grandchildren: Evan (Meagan) Summerville, Nicole (Ethan) Crum, Walter (Cheyenne) Borens, Zachary Wiles, Kody Wiles, Joshua Wiles, Paiton Wiles, Ethan Wiles, Emma Wiles, Liam Wiles; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to honor Jerry’s wishes and asks that overalls be worn to the service.
