HOPKINSVILLE, Ken. -The Medical Staff and Board of Trustees of Jennie Stuart Health in Hopkinsville have announced the winners of the Henry R. Bell, MD Scholarships Funds Award.

Dakota Shemwell, Trigg County High School, Raven Sibley, Christian County High School, and Connor McAfee Cole, Todd County High School, each earned a $2,000 scholarship to help them pursue careers in medicine.

The scholarships are awarded each year to three students planning a career in the healthcare field who demonstrate strong motivation and who are in need of financial assistance.

Dakota plans to pursue a career at Murray State University as an emergency room physician; Raven will pursue a nursing degree at Murray State, and Connor will pursue a career in medicine at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Bell was a family practice physician at Jennie Stuart for a number of years, and also founded Bell Clinic in Elkton, Ky.
