James Proctor Jr., “Bobby” to his many friends, “BobbyPaw” to his grandchildren, “Dad” to the rest, passed away on June 08, 2015.

He was born in Clarksville in July 18, 1943 to Bob and Martha Proctor, who spoiled him rotten.

He went to Clarksville High School and then to Austin Peay State University, where, like so many young men, he majored in girls a year before he enlisted into the US Navy in 1964 to serve his country during the War in Vietnam, where he served three tours. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his service.

He met Margie Catherine Hill toward the end of his enlistment in the Navy, in California, where Margie fell madly in love with him (because he would cut up her steak when they went out to eat).

They married soon after and started a family and had three beautiful children; Michael (Jennifer) the oldest, Ramee (Ricky) the stubborn one, and Bonnie the smart one!

He is a grandfather to three boys, Tyler, Levi, and Wyatt, as well as two girls, Alexandra and Caitlin (Terry). He is also a GREAT grandfather to beautiful little Layla, daughter of Caitlin.

He is also survived by his brother, Tamber (Sheila) Proctor; uncle, Jimmy (Nedra) Powell; and his best friend, who he loved like a brother, Tommy Shearon.

Bobby started work in California for Pacific Bell Telephone Company in 1967 (when you still had to ask Mavis the operator to connect you to your number) and worked there until he retired in 1982, and then came home to start his own business and then retired again in 2008.

His hobbies included golf, golf, and golf! He also loved to refinish old pieces of furniture and on occasion create a new piece, but his favorite thing to pass the time was to do whatever “honey-do” Margie had for him to do.

Bobby is greatly loved and will be missed.
