CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Our ESPN Clarksville Culver’s Athlete of the Week is Northeast High School baseball player, Izayah Williams. The senior hit 2 solo home runs in the third and sixth innings in the Eagles 6-1 victory over Beech in the Region 5-AAA championship.
“Izayah came over from Kenwood this year, where he played 2nd base, and we moved him to the outfield, where he had to learn a new position. He bought in to what we wanted him to do, and with his hard work, he became one of the top outfielders in the area. His two home runs in the region championship game were the spark our team needed to get over the hump,” said Northeast Head Baseball Coach Dustin Smith.
