CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Insomnia Cookies has been operating in Clarksville for a few weeks now, but on Saturday, Feb. 7, they will hold a grand opening to celebrate their historic downtown location, at 119 N. First St.
While the grand opening was originally set for Jan. 31, they moved the event due to the weather conditions Clarksville has dealt with over the last week.

‘We’re blessed with how the community has perceived us’
Insomnia Cookies General Manager Sabreeina Tackett told Clarksville Now that with just their soft opening, they’ve already seen so much community support. “Seeing that and being able to establish ourselves in a historic downtown, that is huge for us,” Tackett said. “We’re blessed with how the community has perceived us.”
Tackett said they are thankful for the grace the community has shown as they continue to get their feet underneath them.
History of Insomnia Cookies
Insomnia Cookies started in 2003 when Seth Berkowitz and his friend group were looking to do late-night food right, according to their website. They focused on providing something warm, convenient and open super late. Their first little cookie shop became a staple for college campuses before expanding into cities, suburbs, and even other countries.
“There’s not a lot of options late at night, so we provide that late-night service with our own driver starting at 7 p.m.,” Tackett said.
Insomnia Cookies’ location in Clarksville marks the brand’s seventh store in Tennessee and 347th location nationwide, according to a press release.
Community and personal favorites
When asked about the local favorites so far, Tackett said that their deluxe cookie options are hot. These include selections such as s’mores, salted caramel and triple chocolate. She said cookies offered on a seasonal, limited-time basis are also some of the favorites, such as with Valentines Day offerings.
Tackett said if she had to choose a favorite, she would have to go with the classic peanut butter chip.
Other treats offered at Insomnia Cookies include brownies, ice cream, cookie cakes, as well as ice cream sandwiches.
