CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Immaculate Conception School (ICS), located at 1901 Madison St., is selling yard signs that read ‘Be Kind’ to benefit local charities and nonprofit organizations.
Each sign is sold for $10, and all of the proceeds will go to five local nonprofits, including Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, The Food Initiative, Tender Paws Animal Therapy of Clarksville, SAFE: Soldiers and Families Embraced, and Clarksville Urban Ministries’ Safe Place.
Last year, Immaculate Conception School, along with all schools in the Diocese of Nashville, started a Kindness Campaign. The campaign was intended to be an antidote to bullying.
As a spinoff of that idea, the faculty and staff of Immaculate Conception School decided to sell the signs to aid local charities, hopefully spreading the purpose of the Kindness Campaign beyond the walls of the school and into the community in the process.
“Over the Christmas break, one of our staff saw yard signs that read ‘Be Kind’ while visiting friends in Owensboro, Ky.,” said Stephanie Stafford, the principal of ICS. “The ‘Be Kind’ sign was brought back to ICS and immediately we loved the idea of not only getting the message of kindness out into the community, but also being able to make a difference for some community service organizations.”
If you’re interested in purchasing a sign to support one of the above charities, you can do so at Immaculate Conception School on Mondays through Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
