CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) I scream, you scream, just about everyone screamed for Ice Cream at the sixth annual I Scream for F.U.E.L., Ice Cream Freeze-Off, Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church. The event raised over $4,600 for the F.U.E.L. Program as around 45 competitors mixed up their best homemade ice cream flavors in a contest to find out who had the most delicious frozen treat.
The F.U.E.L. Program provides non-perishable food items for young children in Montgomery County Schools. Many children rely on school breakfast and lunch for their main meals each day. The food supplied by F.U.E.L. helps to supplement them over the weekend.
Adult division winners were Diane Baird, 1st place with Caramel, Lane Tankersley, 2nd place with Caramel Pecan and 3rd place, Amy Corlew with Strawberry Cheesecake. In the youth division it was Tristen and Hunter Ellis, 1st place with Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate, 2nd place Jayden Stowe with Milky Way and 3rd place was Paul and Abbylyn Herndon with Mixed Berry.
The People’s Choice Award went to Cecil Travis for his Peach ice cream. All of the award winners went home with a special plaque with an ice cream scoop attached to it. Local churches involved with the event were Salem, Antioch, Marion, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church as well as Lone Oak and Memorial Baptist Churche.
