CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Active duty and veteran farmers in Tennessee have a new, exciting opportunity to connect with consumers.

Pick Tennessee Products is partnering with the national brand Homegrown by Heroes (HBH). HBH is the official farmer veteran branding program of America. The HBH logo informs consumers that products featuring the logo were produced by military veterans. The program is available to farmers, ranchers, fishermen and value-added producers of all branches and eras of military service.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture created the HBH trademark in 2013 and later that year paired with The Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC), a national nonprofit corporation that provides training, education, mentorship and financial support to veterans of the United States Armed Forces transitioning to the agriculture industry.

The Clarksville Downtown Market and Pick Tennessee Products will host a special informational day on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The farmers market is located at 102 Public Square in Clarksville, Tenn.

Charley Jordan, a farmer and active duty soldier at Fort Campbell, will be on site. Pick Tennessee Product representatives can offer information on how veteran and active duty farmers can enroll in the HBH program.

Tennessee farmers interested in HBH should contact FVC directly at Support@FarmVetco.org. You can also contact Greer Grill at greer.gill@tn.gov or 615-837-5163 with any questions.
