CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) You’re seeing more and more of the “Christmas is all about Jesus” signs popping up all over Clarksville-Montgomery County, which of course brings back memories of the late Pastor Jimmy Terry who passed away in June of this year.

Pastor Terry created the yard signs a few years ago and began passing them out around the community. He had hoped that the signs would spread across Tennessee as well as across the country and that ministry is growing.

The signs are appearing partly through the efforts of volunteer Tony Carter, who calls himself a mighty man of God and the Executive Distributor for the signs. Carter worked with Pastor Terry for many years and feels it’s very important to continue his ministry.

Carter says right now there are over 1,500 signs in yards in the city and county and more on their way to go up. When Clarksvillenow.com spoke with Carter, he was on his way to answer more requests for signs, and go to the post office to send signs to Virginia and Ohio.

Donations from individuals, businesses, civic organizations, and churches are paying for the signs and supporters of the memory of Pastor Terry want everyone to know that all of the money collected goes right back into ordering more signs and no one is getting paid for their work.

Sorvella Terry said that even though her husband is no longer with us, he is here in spirit. “I’m just very pleased to know that people still remember him,” she said.

She asked for the community’s support to keep her lifted up and help her be as strong as she needs to be to help carry out the ministry and cause behind the signs, and said, “if you truly love Jesus, help promote the cause.”

Every spring during the Easter holiday season the signs reappear around the community with the message “Easter is all about Jesus.” When it comes to both holidays, the signs are what Pastor Terry always said spoke the true reason for the season.

Signs are available at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 303 Market St., or for more information call Tony Carter at 931-338-6761.
