CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) High school students in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) now have an opportunity to participate in a bowling club.

Organizer Kristi Hanson said several parents joined together last year to see if CMCSS would recognize bowling as an unfunded high school sport for TSSAA purposes, but the request was denied. As an alternative, the high schools were given the opportunity to start a bowling club.

The club currently has more than 30 students representing every high school in the district except Clarksville High and is looking to grow. These students are not only bowling for fun but are also learning proper bowling technique.

The club meets at Pinnacle Bowling center from 3:30-5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The season will end on November 7.
