MEMPHIS, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High Wildcats baseball team traveled to Houston High School this week for a three-game sectional series with the Mustangs, with the right to go to the state tournament on the line.

Clarksville High fell in games one and two, sending the Mustangs to the state tournament, and ending the Wildcats’ season, along with the high school baseball season in Clarksville.

  • Game 1: Houston High defeated CHS, 10-0.
  • Game 2: Houston High defeated CHS, 12-2.

The loss also ends the Wildcats’ streak of three consecutive state tournament appearances, along with making four out of the last five. However, this team and senior class still have a lot to be proud of.

The Wildcats this season earned 32 total wins, a district title, and a region runner-up plaque. This senior class, over the last four years, has won 143 games, earned three district titles, two region titles, made three state tournaments, and earned a state runner-up finish last season.
