A Celebration of Life service for Hershel Lee Basham, Jr., age 94, will be Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
Hershel was born on May 26, 1930, in Clarksville, TN to Hershel and Mattie Basham, Sr. He passed away on June 14, 2024. Hershel enjoyed spending time working outdoors on his farm and watching football. He was a proud member of the Clarksville High School class of 1949, where he played football. Hershel was a truck driver for Frosty Morn and then for Beach Oil Company, where he retired. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Norman Basham and son-in-law, Lynn Lamb. Hershel is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary, children, Hershel (Lynda) Basham III, Sarah (Don) Morgan, and Susan Lamb, grandchildren, Don (Kiley) Morgan, Jr. and Lance (Kayla) Morgan, and great- grandchildren, Owen and Hank Morgan and Bridger and Miles Morgan.
