CLARKSIVLLE, Tenn. – Heritage Bank honored its most recent scholarship recipients at the 13th Annual Scholarship Fund banquet.
The scholarships are presented in honor of a community member in each market area who has contributed to helping children and education, and were recognized at the ceremony as well. The Scholarship recipients for the 2016 school year were presented their awards among their families and school administrators.
“Our Heritage Bank Scholarship Fund is one of the largest investments we make to enhance the educational endeavors of students in western Kentucky and middle Tennessee,” said John Peck, CEO of Heritage Bank. “Over the past 12 years, we have awarded more than $281,000 to 562 students. This year we awarded an additional 62 scholarships, bringing our total to 624 scholarships awarded.”
In attendance were HopFed Bancorp and Heritage Bank board members, Community Board members from the bank’s market areas in Kentucky and Tennessee, Heritage Bank executive staff, Market Presidents and managers, school guidance counselors and principals, and the recipients and their families. The evening began with dinner and concluded with door prizes featuring the centerpieces containing several must-needed items for college-bound students. CEO John Peck was the keynote speaker for the evening.
Scholarships were provided to all public and private within Heritage Bank’s footprint. The graduating seniors were awarded scholarships and presented with plaques. Heritage Bank also presented its annual Alumni Scholarships. “These two educational awards go to previous scholarship students who are enrolled in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year in college,” commented Peck. “Each of this year’s recipients will be eligible to apply for the Alumni Scholarship next year,” Peck added.
Clarksville area students receiving scholarship awards included: Jayson Halliday, Alexis Matthews, Jennifer Shearon, and Ryan Streeter of Clarksville High School; Abigail Mansfield of Clarksville Academy; Tierra Chappel, Shania Green, and Aimee Turner of Kenwood High School; Cord Beck, Leslie Bradley, and Sierra Guzman of Montgomery Central High School; Payton Hall, Alecia Miller, and Allyson Robertson of Northeast High School; Rebecca McFadden, Terica Porter, and Dillon Zites of Northwest High School; Sarah Grace Brown, Jesse Greer, Amber Miller, and Eugene Allen Sueiro III of Rossview High School; Haley Palmeri of Middle College at APSU; Brandy McCone, Joshua Neely, and Nyria Rogers of West Creek High School; and Caitlin Hertzendorf and Irish Manalang of Fort Campbell High School.
