Harold Burnis Mathews, 86, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at his residence.

Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Dr. Mark Mathews and Dr. Larry Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville, KY. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bagwell, Wayne Clardy, Scott Denney, Joe Haley, Sr., Tom Harris, Mike Smith, Dwight Staggs, and Edmund Terrell. Honorary pallbearers will be John Freed Sunday School Class (formerly Harold Mathews Sunday School Class).

Harold was born on August 12, 1930, in Olmstead, KY to the late Carson Mathews and Vera Harris Mathews.

Harold was retired former owner of Harold Mathews Nissan. He was a member and faithful servant of Hilldale Baptist Church, where he was Trustee, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Mathews; daughter, Jackie Phillips Wilkerson; brother, Ray Calvin Mathews; and two sisters, Louise Bowring and Olene Burchett.

Harold is survived by his son, Hal (Mary Beth) Mathews of Clarksville, TN; two daughters, Mona (John) Moss of Dothan, AL and April Mathews (Andres) Rodriguez of Clarksville, TN; brother, Gary (Joyce) Mathews of Clarksville, TN; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
