As we step into February, the season of admiration, the Industrial Development Board would like to highlight the industries that make great partners and have become a valentine to the community.

Google and Google.org have reaffirmed their commitment to the Clarksville community, contributing over $200,000 to 12 local organizations dedicated to advancing technology, STEAM education, and sustainability. This funding is part of the company’s ongoing effort to drive positive change and empower communities through innovation and education.

From enriching STEM education in schools to fostering inclusivity in the arts, the funding touches various sectors, ensuring widespread community impact.

“We believe local organizations play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of the community members they serve. Google has called Tennessee home since 2018, and we are proud to support those driving meaningful progress,” said Google Data Centers Public Affairs representative Angie Kozlowski.

Empowering the Next Generation with STEM Education

Among the beneficiaries is The EdTech Studio at Eriksson College of Education, Austin Peay State University, which uses its grant to bridge the technological and educational gap for underserved communities. By partnering with local public libraries, the studio delivers STEM-related workshops that provide school-aged students with hands-on experiences, preparing them for the digital future.

Similarly, Richview Middle School received funding to expand its award-winning hydroponic gardening curriculum. This hands-on program teaches students advanced plant-growing techniques while incorporating science, sustainability, and food security concepts into their lessons.

“Google’s investment in Richview Middle School has really made science come to life for its students,” said Ronnie “Devin” Roberts, STEM Teacher at Richview Middle School. “Starting from seeds, they are growing, preserving, and learning about sustaining the supply of food, turning our STEM classroom into a real innovation hub.”

Strengthening Local Communities Through Support and Inclusion

Beyond education, Google’s contributions are making a tangible difference in various aspects. YAIPak Outreach, another recipient, will use its funding to enhance a technology support program for foster teens, homeless individuals, and families impacted by local natural disasters. Meanwhile, the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts ensures that events, productions, and guest speaker engagements, like the TEDxClarksville remain accessible to community members with disabilities and language accessibility needs.

Manna Café Ministries, known for its fight against food insecurity, received funding to continue distributing over 25,000 carts of groceries annually to low-income individuals and families. Additionally, the Economic Development Council is using its grant to provide essential assistance to business owners facing language barriers, fostering economic growth and inclusion in the region.

Google’s Lasting Impact in Clarksville and Tennessee

Since establishing its Montgomery County data center in 2018, Google has invested more than $2.1 billion in Tennessee, generating jobs and providing digital services that power businesses and daily life. Beyond infrastructure, Google has awarded over $1 million in grants to local schools and nonprofits, reinforcing its role as a vital community partner.

With this latest round of funding, Google continues to uplift both Clarksville and Tennessee’s educational and community-driven initiatives, ensuring that local organizations have the resources needed to innovate, inspire, and create lasting change. As these partnerships grow, so does Google’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in the Volunteer State.
